IOM Ready to Buy Central Asia's Transit Fuel Supply

TEHRAN Director of the Customs Administration Mehdi Karbasian said here Tuesday that the Iranian Oil Ministry (IOM) has approved the proposal put forward by the customs administration to purchase the Central Asian fuel supplies now being stranded at the Iran-Turkey border. He told IRNA that the customs administration has proposed the plan to resolve the obstacles faced by the truckers and traders as well as reducing traffic at the Bazargan Customs Office. Karbasian added that many tankers carrying fuel have been stranded on the route connecting Caspian Sea ports to the Bazargan border point, after emergence of problems in transiting fuel from Central Asia to Turkey. He also stressed that given the recent incidents in Turkey, problem faced by tankers carrying fuel to the country, have multiplied.
